About the Role

The Defense Health Operation of Leidos Health & Services Sector is seeking a Department Coordinator to support the Warfighter Health and Protection Department at the Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory (NSMRL). NSMRL conducts research investigating the effects of medical, psychological, and performance issues on naval personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and summarize project progress with summary reports, subject to Government approval.
  • Assist Government PI with implementation of project estimate sheets and provide spending updates to Department Heads.
  • Prepare, review, and disseminate internal and/or external communications, subject to Government approval.
  • Track the routing of research products.
  • Assist with administrative aspects for proposals, protocols, presentations, papers, patents, user articles, lay articles, and related knowledge products.
  • Assist Government PI with formatting, revisions, submission, and tracking of administrative, financial, logistical, and scheduling aspects of scientific research, including IRB, SRB, and PAO documents, in accordance with Command policy, subject to Government approval.
  • Assist with preparing standard operating procedures and/or go-by documentation for administrative, financial, logistical, and scheduling aspects of scientific research, subject to Government approval.
  • Coordinate SharePoint Government approved document content.
  • Ensure communications of scientific research-based requirements are well-written and error-free.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience in a scientific research environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and web-based research tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to acquire a SECRET classification access level.
  • US citizenship is required due to Federal contract requirements.
  • Ability to speak well, concisely and confer with professional colleagues on a peer basis.
  • Demonstrate the ability to extend and apply research knowledge to the missions of the NSMRL Command and the Navy.
