About the Role

A multi-state commercial insurance carrier is seeking a Business Analyst for their Commercial Auto Division. This role involves developing and maintaining reports on product rates and profitability, synthesizing key messages, and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Revise rates for various programs and prepare filing memoranda for insurance department approval.
  • Assist in designing and pricing new products or rating plans.
  • Analyze experience and perform miscellaneous research activities.
  • Develop management reports to monitor performance, behavior, and results against company goals.
  • Assist actuaries with other matters as needed.
  • Maintain an organizational culture aligned with company core values that attracts and retains high-level talent.
  • Embrace a "bring-it-on" attitude to address issues and questions within the department and across the organization.
  • Act as a key contributor in resolving complex or expedited requests, requiring end-to-end ownership and analytical skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of relevant working experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated track record of achievement on relevant projects is a plus.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. is required; sponsorship is not provided.

Skills

  • Experience and/or aptitude in Excel.
  • Experience and/or aptitude in data manipulation tools such as Power BI, SQL, Microsoft Access is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written.
  • Credit for completion of one or more Casualty Actuarial Society exams is a plus.

Salary/Compensations

  • $60,000 - $70,000
