About the Role

Spectrum Health & Human Services (SHHS) partners with individuals and families to support recovery from behavioral, emotional, mental health, and substance-related disorders by offering opportunities for hope, empowerment, and support to achieve self-defined improvements in their quality of life. This role ensures clients receive necessary support and services when accessing the SHHS after-hours crisis line, stabilizing them in the community to prevent unnecessary hospital visits.

Responsibilities

Provide professional support to clients and their families via the after-hours phone.
Initiate appropriate services to stabilize current crisis situations, including telephone support, CARES, Mobile Crisis Teams, Crisis Services, and 911.
Provide effective crisis intervention services and empower clients/families to utilize natural supports and established professional linkages.
Offer accurate information to clients/families about available community resources for ongoing crisis stabilization.
Obtain and document client demographics, including caller's name, client's name, phone numbers, address, and DOB.
Maintain progress notes, records, reports, and legal documents consistent with agency and contract standards.

Requirements

Must live near or in Erie county.

Must have excellent engagement and crisis intervention skills.
Must be able to work effectively with diverse clients, families, staff, and community contacts.
Must convey empathy and respect in all interactions.
Must have an ability to adapt to changes in regulatory and contract requirements and program design.
Must have proficiency in working in several EHR systems.
Three (3) years of full-time paid experience providing direct services with at-risk children, adolescents, or adults, including crisis interventions, safety planning, and service coordination.
