About the Role
Spectrum Health & Human Services (SHHS) partners with individuals and families to support recovery from behavioral, emotional, mental health, and substance-related disorders by offering opportunities for hope, empowerment, and support to achieve self-defined improvements in their quality of life. This role ensures clients receive necessary support and services when accessing the SHHS after-hours crisis line, stabilizing them in the community to prevent unnecessary hospital visits.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional support to clients and their families via the after-hours phone.
- Initiate appropriate services to stabilize current crisis situations, including telephone support, CARES, Mobile Crisis Teams, Crisis Services, and 911.
- Provide effective crisis intervention services and empower clients/families to utilize natural supports and established professional linkages.
- Offer accurate information to clients/families about available community resources for ongoing crisis stabilization.
- Obtain and document client demographics, including caller's name, client's name, phone numbers, address, and DOB.
- Maintain progress notes, records, reports, and legal documents consistent with agency and contract standards.
Requirements
- Must live near or in Erie county.

- Must have excellent engagement and crisis intervention skills.
- Must be able to work effectively with diverse clients, families, staff, and community contacts.
- Must convey empathy and respect in all interactions.
- Must have an ability to adapt to changes in regulatory and contract requirements and program design.
- Must have proficiency in working in several EHR systems.
- Three (3) years of full-time paid experience providing direct services with at-risk children, adolescents, or adults, including crisis interventions, safety planning, and service coordination.
