About the Role
Join a 10-week summer programme (21st June to 27th August 2027) in Central London, gaining insight into life as a Natural Language Processing (NLP) practitioner at a leading quantitative research firm. You will work on a meaningful research project, be paired with a mentor, and present your findings to senior management. Top performers may be considered for full-time roles.
Responsibilities
- Investigate foundational questions in NLP.
- Uncover market insights.
- Push the boundaries of what's possible in NLP research.
- Work on a meaningful and challenging research project.
- Apply innovative and pragmatic mathematical and computational analysis.
- Present research ideas to senior management.
Requirements
- Post-graduate degree in Natural Language Processing or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience developing novel machine learning algorithms.
- Experience working with large-scale, noisy text datasets.
- Experience building models for information extraction, sentiment analysis, or semantic understanding.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Experience using modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop novel models where standard approaches are insufficient.
- Interest in finance and a willingness to learn are essential.
