About the Role

Act as a trusted advisor, providing pragmatic and commercially-focused privacy guidance across departments. Support the organization in managing personal data responsibly, maintaining compliance, and fortifying data protection practices.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate one-off data-share agreements.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate vendor agreement data protection provisions.
  • Conduct and document Privacy Impact Assessments and Transfer Impact Assessments.
  • Advise business stakeholders on the compliant use of approved third-party tools and services.
  • Support the Product Design & Engineering team on the development and global implementation of internal tools.
  • Provide M&A data privacy due diligence, contract review, and post-acquisition integration support.
  • Offer incident response support.
  • Review data import and export requests.
  • Support Sony Music’s live division, including negotiating agreements, drafting privacy notices, and collaborating on events.
  • Advise label marketing teams on local and multi-market contests.
  • Support label and international marketing teams on promotional campaigns, ensuring compliance with legislation and chart rules.
  • Collaborate with the business to prepare Data Subject Access Requests responses.
  • Support the Customer Relationship Management team with data rights requests and scheduled data deletion.
  • Advise the People Experience team on local and company-wide initiatives.
  • Support US and International litigation teams.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years’ PQE, preferably in the Data Privacy field.
  • Experience handling Data Subject Access Requests.
  • Experience preparing Privacy Impact Assessments.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating data processing agreements.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining data privacy operations.
  • Experience advising digital marketing teams.
  • Knowledge and awareness of ongoing developments related to Data Privacy law worldwide.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with others within Sony Group and across Sony Music divisions.
  • Strong negotiation skills and work ethic.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, good judgment, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted advisor relationships with internal clients.
  • Commitment to provide the highest quality internal client support.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
