About the Role

The Laboratory of Behavioural Neuroendocrinology at CAMH is seeking a Scientific Associate to support research on sex and gender differences in brain health, aging, mental health, and neurodegenerative disease. This role involves developing and executing research projects, preparing grant proposals and manuscripts, and contributing to scientific communication and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior scientific support through the development and execution of research projects.
  • Prepare competitive grant proposals, scientific manuscripts, reports, presentations, and knowledge translation resources.
  • Contribute expertise in behavioural neuroscience, neuroendocrinology, and Alzheimer's disease research.
  • Apply preclinical models, behavioural approaches, and experimental methodologies to investigate disease mechanisms, cognitive function, and factors influencing resilience and disease progression.
  • Perform experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Advance research methodologies and support high-quality, reproducible research.
  • Contribute to grant strategy and collaborative research initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and research staff.
  • Support trainee development in experimental design, research methods, data analysis, scientific writing, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes scientific independence.
  • Maintain high standards of scientific integrity, research ethics, regulatory compliance, and reproducibility.
  • Remain current with advances in behavioural neuroscience, neuroendocrinology, Alzheimer's disease, sex and gender science, and translational research methodologies.

  • Experience with preclinical models, behavioural approaches, and experimental methodologies.
  • Experience in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.

  • Experience supporting high-quality, reproducible research.
  • Experience contributing to grant strategy and collaborative research initiatives.
  • Experience providing mentorship and guidance to students and research staff.
  • Experience supporting trainee development.
  • Commitment to scientific integrity, research ethics, regulatory compliance, and reproducibility.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of behavioural neuroscience, neuroendocrinology, Alzheimer's disease, sex and gender science, and translational research methodologies.
