About the Role
This role supports clients with various accounting and finance tasks on a project basis, working with a diverse client base.
Responsibilities
- Functions in various capacities including Controller, CFO, or Project Leader for clients
- Manages multiple client stakeholders simultaneously
- Prepares miscellaneous accounting reports
- Participates and leads various ad hoc projects
- Oversees all aspects of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing
- Performs due diligence procedures for clients
- Assists clients with SEC Reporting
- Resolves complex accounting issues and assists clients with implementing new accounting pronouncements (ASC606 and ASC842)
- Ensures work accuracy and adherence to correct technical approach
- Creates and documents processes, and suggests/implements process improvements
- Recognizes and offers additional appropriate BDO services to clients
- Performs other duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Ten or more years of accounting-related experience required
- Experience working with public, private, or private equity companies required
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP required
- Professional services industry experience preferred
- Public Accounting experience preferred
- Advanced MS Excel experience preferred
- CPA preferred
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook required
- Technical skills commensurate with experience level
- Demonstrates high professionalism under pressure
- Team player with ability to contribute knowledge and ask for help
- Fast learner, able to work ethically and effectively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) with ability to interact with customers at all levels
- Continually strives to improve inter-personal, management, functional, and technical skills
- Strong organizational skills, ability to meet project deadlines with focus on details
- Ability to travel minimum of 50% preferred
