About the Role
This position is responsible for all activities relating to distribution operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and dispatching of construction supply material.
Responsibilities
- Ensure orders and inter-branch transfers are picked, checked, packed, and loaded per company guidelines.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of orders, including correct material, quantity, and acceptable quality/delivery.
- Control inventory and minimize misplaced material and errors in collaboration with the Inbound/Inventory Manager.
- Process all parcel package shipments for customer delivery.
- Provide a motivating work environment for staff, promoting high levels of performance.
- Communicate policies to ensure compliance and administer corrective action as necessary.
- Foster communication and teamwork among staff to achieve operational goals.
- Accept responsibility for company projects that may be indirectly related to the area of responsibility.
- Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse and processing areas with team members.
- Ensure safe work practices are followed, maintaining a safe work environment.
- Complete all assigned NEFCO trainings.
- Monitor and enforce all NEFCO training initiatives for associates under supervision.
- Assist in the implementation of new training and enhancement of existing training processes for associates.
- Review direct reports’ timecards, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Approve employee timecards prior to the supervisor deadline.
- Resolve errors in employee time (missing punches, adjustments, etc.).
- Review and approve PTO requests.
Requirements
- Must have a track record of being a results-oriented person.
- Must have worked in industrial warehousing/distribution operations for 2+ years.
- Must be an effective communicator up, down, and across the organization.
- Ability to use NEFCO’s ERP software system.
- Ability to use warehouse layouts for planning purposes.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must have a positive, hard-working attitude.
- Ability to establish priorities and work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to stand on concrete floors for long periods.
- Must be able to work in various climate conditions (cold, heat, humidity) for extended periods.
- Ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl, and twist for lifting.
- Ability to safely lift as much as 50+ lbs.
- Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents.
- Analytical ability including basic math skills.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (including forklifts) and be recertified.
- Must be detail-oriented and hands-on with an aptitude for multi-tasking and adapting to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Must have effective interpersonal skills with the ability to direct, coach, support, and delegate to associates.
