About the Role

The purpose of this position is to mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, prepare documentation for cash funds accountability, set up and maintain the bar, and ensure a sanitary and well-stocked work environment.

Responsibilities

• Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
• Prepares a variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnish.
• Serves patrons directly or delivers to wait staff.
• Receives payment, operates cash register, and makes and returns change.
• Prepares documentation for cash funds accountability.
• Sets up bar for operation, ensuring it is presentable and sanitary.
• Assures adequate stock levels are maintained and stocks service bars.
• Maintains a neat and clean work area.
• Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils following proper sanitation procedures.
• Assists higher level bartenders as required.
• Completes required training in the serving of alcoholic beverages and annual refresher training.
• Identifies and resolves issues with unruly or intoxicated patrons, or seeks assistance.
• Adheres to safety regulations and standards, uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures.
• Promptly reports workplace hazards, injuries, occupational illnesses, and property damage.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale or completion of a bartender's training school.
• Experience recognizing intoxicated or unruly patrons and resolving the problem or seeking assistance.
• Experience following proper cash handling procedures.
• Ability to stoop, stand, and walk for long periods.
• Ability to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 10 pounds, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds.
• Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages.
• One year of experience as a bartender (preferred).
