About the Role
This 10-week summer programme offers interns a unique insight into life as a Data Science practitioner at a leading quantitative research firm. The Data Science team's mission is to discover, enrich, and analyse data sources that drive research initiatives. Interns will apply their knowledge to support the exploration, enrichment, and creation of new datasets, using data blending, statistical analysis, and machine learning methods. They will also help build tooling for data science initiatives, contributing to a team at the forefront of the company's data strategy and making an impact from the beginning. The role provides exposure to cutting-edge technologies in a high-growth industry, with opportunities to learn about multi-asset class systematic investing and big data development.
Responsibilities
- Support the exploration, enrichment, and creation of new datasets for research.
- Apply knowledge of data blending, statistical analysis, and machine learning methods to scale and automate data analysis, validation, and visualization.
- Build tooling to enable data science initiatives across the company.
- Collaborate with industry-leading data scientists and financial experts.
- Develop solutions that adapt to a rapidly changing data landscape.
Requirements
- A current undergraduate, master's or PhD student in a quantitative subject.
- Strong critical thinking skills and exceptional problem-solving ability.
- Comfortable applying statistical concepts to real-world data.
- Experience using Python, including for exploratory data analysis and visualisation.
- Strong communication skills.
- An interest in financial markets.
- Ability to work independently on research projects.
