About the Role
Help bring premier content to life by playing a key role in Warner Bros. Discovery's world-class screening facilities. You will prepare and quality-check content, operate cutting-edge digital cinema technology, and ensure flawless screening delivery. This role involves close collaboration with post-production teams, colourists, producers, and clients to bring creative visions to the big screen and provide a first-class experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, ingest, and manage content, ensuring correct formatting and verification.
- Conduct pre-screening checks of picture and sound for aspect ratio, resolution, audio routing, and presentation quality.
- Configure and operate digital cinema servers and projection systems.
- Perform quality control checks on all content, identifying and reporting issues.
- Assist with image and sound calibration of equipment to maintain DCI compliance.
- Collaborate with post-production producers, colourists, and clients on booking schedules and technical requirements.
- Meet clients before screenings.
- Act as a Fire Warden to ensure site safety.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of cinema projection audio and video standards (Dolby Atmos, 5.1/7.1 audio, Scope/Flat/Full Frame presentation formats).
- Solid understanding of Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs), including CPLs and KDMs, with experience in ingestion, validation, and key management.
- Working knowledge of cinema projection systems, automation equipment, media servers, and audio processing hardware.
- Broad understanding of video image fundamentals (codecs, compression, colour spaces, frame rates, aspect ratios, dynamic range, video signal levels).
- Solid understanding of professional cinema audio systems (multichannel formats, signal routing, sync).
- Good knowledge of common digital video and audio file formats used in professional cinema and post-production.
- Ability to perform basic fault finding for picture and sound issues.
- Competent in performing basic technical checks and measurements (SPL verification, colour calibration assessment).
- Ability to work within a shift pattern, including evenings and weekends.
