About the Role
Catapult is seeking a full-lifecycle Computer Vision Engineer to join our Data Science team. This role involves owning the complete feature lifecycle, from translating product briefs into algorithmic solutions and training deep learning models to engineering pipelines and delivering production-ready artifacts for sports analytics.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate to translate product requirements into practical computer vision solutions, designing pipelines from raw video ingestion to production inference.
- Design, train, and evaluate deep learning architectures and classical computer vision pipelines.
- Develop mathematical pipelines for camera calibration, homography estimation, and coordinate mapping.
- Architect and containerize Python-based cloud microservices using Docker.
- Assist in compiling cross-platform native binaries or shared libraries linking against the ONNX Runtime C++ API.
- Build automated data-ingestion pipelines utilizing model-assisted pre-labeling for training datasets.
- Define API boundaries and interface contracts for seamless integration of data science modules.
Requirements
- Foundational knowledge of classical computer vision and modern deep learning architectures.
- Experience sourcing, structuring, training, and benchmarking deep neural networks using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- High proficiency in Python for prototyping, training, scripting, and deployment pipelines.
- Practical capability to read, build, and debug existing C++ codebases, including exposure to build management tools like CMake.
- Familiarity with optimizing model runtimes and inference execution graphs using TensorRT or ONNX Runtime.
- Practical experience with Docker containerization, version control (Git), and cloud platform execution (AWS).
