About the Role

Provides overall leadership to the Manufacturing Engineering Department in designing, implementing, documenting, and optimizing manufacturing processes, procedures, and tools for industrial gas turbine and aerospace components. Leads operational improvements including ERP system utilization, production equipment, quality control, cost analysis, and projects supporting productivity goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Manufacturing Engineering Department to achieve company production goals.
  • Direct and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team.
  • Plan, lead, and execute productivity improvement projects.
  • Plan, lead, and execute cost reduction projects.
  • Develop, evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing processes.
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, including fixtures and tooling.
  • Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures.
  • Analyze manufacturing process flows for quality, cost reduction, and throughput enhancements.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of tool drawings, design concepts, shop orders, and concepts.
  • Collaborate with configuration control and design engineering on product tooling and design for effective production methods.
  • Confer with purchasing and vendors on product specifications, equipment/material purchase, and product evaluation.
  • Estimate staffing requirements, production times, and costs for operational decisions.
  • Work closely with production supervision and Group Leaders to develop and implement technical training.
  • Provide engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in the production department.
  • Coordinate work with tool room personnel, technicians, and outside vendors.
  • Support company policies, procedures, goals, objectives, regulations, and good manufacturing practices.

Requirements

  • Requires either a US Person or a non-US person eligible for required export authorization.
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in manufacturing, particularly in a CNC machining environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Experience planning and maintaining budgets and reports.

Skills

  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing concepts.
  • Ability to grasp modern technology quickly.
  • Strong understanding of existing technology.
  • Ability to model and develop the organization's technology and equipment strategy.
  • Working knowledge of industrial engineering concepts and lean principles.
  • Very strong communicator.
  • Ability to direct the work of others.

Salary/Compensations
