About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our growing engineering team and build out our backend third-party integration systems as we scale. You will work closely with Product, Operations, Customer Support, Growth and other functions to design and build a reliable, performant, and secure platform for handling remittances across countries. As an early member of the team, you will have a significant impact on our team culture, processes, and norms.

Responsibilities

Build out a unified interface encapsulating dozens of third-party payment integrations.
Work on one of the pillar revenue centers of the organization.
Take ownership of backend system architecture and implementation.
Build performant and resilient data flows, keeping security in mind.
Work closely with the product team to regularly ship working features.
Work in an iterative fashion.
Evaluate and deliver timeline estimates.

Requirements

7+ years of professional experience building backend systems.
Proficiency with Kotlin or Java / JVM.
Proficiency with PostgreSQL.
Experience with AWS: S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, etc.
Experience implementing and managing elaborate integrations with third-party APIs.
Experience working on systems with real-world performance and reliability constraints.
Experience developing software in a collaborative, multi-functional, and fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and ability to manage conflicting priorities, setting expectations with stakeholders and being a driving force.
Experience working with Infrastructure as Code technologies, like Terraform and Ansible.
Experience with SRE or similar infrastructure work.
Experience with Data Engineering concepts and workflows.
High personal code/development standards (code review, unit testing, documentation, etc.).
