About the Role

Support people with disability to have the choice, control, and independence to live their best life. Joining our team in Kensington on a permanent part time basis, you will support various people with disability who access our respite services. We are looking for candidates who will quickly build positive relationships and are enthusiastic about providing active support and getting involved in the varying interests of the people accessing the respite service – this may range from getting into arts and crafts, sports, shopping or accessing the community.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care
Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
Maintain thorough record keeping
Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
Advocate for client choice and control

Requirements

Experience working with people with disability
Previous experience working with behaviour support plans
Experience with personal care and manual handling
Strong computer and verbal and written communication skills
An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence, comfortable to drive large van to transport clients as needed
A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
