About the Role

Join KBR and play a critical role in supporting Australia's Defence capability as a Mechanical Field Engineer within our Capability Life Cycle Manager (CLCM) team. This is an exciting opportunity for a subject matter expert to apply their specialist knowledge across a broad range of complex mechanical systems while contributing to the sustainment and operational readiness of key Defence assets.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering activities to ensure compliance with approved policy, plans and processes.
• Conduct work to the requirements of the Engineering Management Plan and individual CSC task plans.
• Exercise technical oversight and assurance over engineering activities via systems engineering, configuration control, and materiel support processes.
• Provide governance of technical certification of systems, including compliance with standards, specifications, and regulations, and assuring fitness for purpose.
• Manage the systems engineering process, including requirements engineering, integration engineering, verification and validation, test and evaluation, and mechanical, electrical, structural, and safety engineering.
• Develop tasking statements for design tasks according to the planned schedule.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop requirements and solutions within Engineering Change Management, Configuration management, Systems Safety, and Certification.
• Review engineering design task deliverables and conduct associated technical Design Reviews.
• Verify new Request for Problem Resolution (RPR) against the approved Requirements baseline, Certification Basis, and Safety Case.
• Manage assigned Request for Variations (RFV) prior to expiry date to Return to Standard (RTS), Make Permanent, or cancellation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or a related discipline.
• Eligible to obtain SQEP Engineering Delegation Authority within an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO).
• Highly developed organisational and analytical skills.
• Hold, or be eligible for, membership of a recognised professional body and registration as Chartered Engineer.
• A minimum of 7 years related experience.
• Must be eligible for ITAR clearance of relevant ship systems.
• Experience in a Department of Defence design delivery (desirable).
• Experience in marine design or maintenance (desirable).
• All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance.
• Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
• An AGSVA security clearance will be required.
• Compliance to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is required.
