About the Role

We are seeking a Java API Developer to join our Digital Asset development team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting RESTful APIs and backend services in a financial services environment, contributing to reliable, secure, and well-documented services that integrate with upstream/downstream systems and support business-critical workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services and REST APIs supporting financial services workflows.
  • Implement APIs in line with internal requirements for design, security, versioning, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver API changes in an Agile sprint model.
  • Write automated tests, participate in code reviews, and contribute to quality gates.
  • Support service troubleshooting and production readiness activities, including logging, monitoring, and defect triage.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation for APIs and integrations.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience developing Java backend applications, including REST API development.
  • Familiarity with common Java API frameworks and patterns (e.g., Spring Boot / Spring MVC-style services).
  • Understanding of secure API fundamentals (authentication/authorization, data handling) and enterprise standards.
  • Strong grasp of SDLC basics: source control, code reviews, automated testing, and Agile delivery.
  • Experience working in financial services or another regulated environment.
