About the Role

As the Manager Safety Systems for APAC, you will play a lead role in the day-to-day management of safety systems, working closely with senior safety advisors and the QHSE team to drive safety standards through improved systems and processes. Your focus will be on managing and reducing risk to enhance safety and security, supporting safe and secure business operations through safety planning, administration, reporting, and fostering a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and reduce risk to improve safety and security.
  • Support the safe and secure operation of the business.
  • Lead safety planning, administration, reporting, and safety culture initiatives.
  • Support a safe working environment within your area of responsibility and a ‘safety first’ culture.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organizational policies.
  • Influence staff, supervisors, and management to implement safety improvement strategies and initiatives.
  • Coach management and your team on safety, security, and environment-related matters.
  • Identify and manage key dependencies between management systems and operational safety advisory functions.

Requirements

  • Experience in a workplace safety management role or similar profession.
  • Direct aviation ground operations experience, or experience in a safety role or similar.
  • Strong people leadership ability to drive collaboration and success within your team.
  • Working knowledge of Australian and New Zealand aviation regulations.
  • Working knowledge of airport, cargo, or airline operational policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Australia and New Zealand WH&S legislation.
  • Contractor Management engagement experience.
  • High-level utilization of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Superior observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly developed planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Document control/management experience.
  • Capability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to travel both interstate and internationally.
  • Ability to respond to all ad hoc travel requests.
  • Ability to work variable hours, including early starts, late finishes, and weekends, as required.
