About the Role
As a key member of the DEAG group, you will focus on data protection, contributing to digital projects, governance, and the evolution of modern work processes. This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape new structures and standards within a growing organization.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and handle central data protection matters for DEAG group companies in Germany.
- Develop the data protection management system, processes, and standards.
- Review and maintain records of processing activities, technical and organizational measures (TOMs), data processing agreements (AVVs), data protection information, policies, and internal records.
- Coordinate data subject requests and data protection incidents, and participate in data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
- Support new tools, service providers, and business processes from a data protection perspective.
- Translate legal requirements into understandable and actionable measures.
- Collaborate closely with departments, management, external data protection officers, and external legal counsel.
- Independently identify operational solutions and determine when in-depth legal assessment is needed.
- Manage selected projects related to digitalization, data, AI, and governance from clarification to implementation.
- Develop digital workflows and help standardize or automate manual processes.
- Support the introduction of new tools and technologies, particularly within Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and AI environments.
- Coordinate stakeholders, work packages, deadlines, and dependencies, and identify risks or blockages early.
- Develop templates, standards, and solutions transferable to other group companies.
- Contribute own ideas to further develop Fyusion as a central unit for data protection, data, AI, and digital processes.
Requirements
- Several years of practical experience in operational data protection or data protection management.
- Sound knowledge of GDPR, BDSG, and related data protection regulations.
- Practical experience with central data protection processes such as VVT, TOMs, AVVs, data subject rights, data protection incidents, DPIAs, or tool assessments.
- Ability to independently assess standard data protection legal situations and translate them into practical measures.
- Experience in project management or coordinating various stakeholders.
- A highly structured, reliable, and independent work style.
- Enjoyment in taking responsibility and advancing topics without detailed specifications.
- Interest in digital processes, new technologies, data, and the responsible use of AI.
- Relevant further training or certification in data protection is advantageous.
- Must possess solid data protection expertise and practical application experience.
- Not required to be a fully qualified lawyer or formally act as the Data Protection Officer.
- Expected to be able to contribute substantively from the start without needing fundamental data protection training.
