About the Role
As a Claims Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering fair, timely, and customer-focused outcomes across a portfolio of life risk disability claims. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working closely with senior specialists to ensure every decision is thoughtful, accurate, and aligned to policy and customer needs. This is an opportunity to build strong technical capability while making a meaningful difference in customers’ lives. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help shape a claims experience that is efficient, empathetic, and digitally enabled.
Responsibilities
- Assess and manage a portfolio of life risk disability claims in line with policy requirements
- Meet service standards while supporting positive customer satisfaction outcomes
- Maintain effective oversight of claim workflows and portfolio performance
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory obligations
- Communicate proactively with clients, advisers, employers, and other stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with internal teams including rehabilitation, medical, and reinsurance partners
Requirements
- Demonstrated understanding of life insurance claims processes including assessment and investigation
- Ability to interpret policy terms and make clear, well-reasoned decisions
- Strong communication skills with experience engaging a variety of stakeholders
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence
- Knowledge of insurance regulatory and legal frameworks
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a related field
