About the Role
We are seeking a Critical Facilities Engineer Level IV to maintain and ensure the technical operation of key infrastructure within Equinix data centres. This role involves guiding and developing team members, acting as a technical reference, and leading by example.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the seamless operation of facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms.
- Oversee and execute preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems.
- Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment.
- Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities.
- Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs and scripts.
- Assist senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and handle basic incidents.
- Complete basic work requests and circuit installations.
- Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects.
- Execute works projects to improve site functionality.
Requirements
- ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience in a data centre environment or a closely transitional industry.
- In-depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems.
- Must have been LV certificated previously.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
