About the Role

This position supports and maintains the production trading of multiple clients, acting as a subject matter expert and escalation point for the client's Front Office Trade Management desk. The role requires meeting daily client SLAs and internal deadlines to ensure timely client trading.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day team responsibilities, developing a strong risk management and controlled environment.
  • Eliminate risk incidents and inadvertent data disclosures.
  • Take a lead role in internal or external audits.
  • Confirm completion of staff work review and verification daily, enforcing stringent procedures and controls.
  • Assist in the review and verification process as needed.
  • Ensure documentation protocols are followed.
  • Conduct high-level analysis in specific areas of expertise, identify and resolve work-processing issues, and implement streamlining suggestions.
  • Perform a team lead function.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to other employees, including training new and cross-training existing team members.
  • Take an active role in new employee onboarding.
  • Research complex issues and inquiries.
  • Resolve discrepancies and take action on complex and escalated matters from external clients and internal departments.
  • Approve documented workflow, procedures, and controls.
  • Ensure documented procedures and checklists are maintained and up-to-date.
  • Determine the impact of activity on other areas.
  • Make proactive recommendations and solutions for problem resolution.
  • Interface with senior-level internal and external clients and other departments on complex matters and inquiries.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting, including daily, weekly, and monthly metrics.
  • Engage in complex special projects and assignments, including new client onboardings and integrations/upgrades.
  • Take ownership of BAU issues across the Front and Middle office to resolution, engaging teams as needed to maintain accuracy of Clients’ Order Management Systems (OMS) and Middle Office IBOR recordkeeping systems.
  • Lead and manage the investigation and resolution of queries from a client support perspective.
  • Collaborate with other teams to share approaches, develop best practices, and improve team capabilities.
  • Interact with clients regionally and globally to ensure deliverables are met and participate in service review meetings.
  • Manage the documentation of new or updated operation controls and procedures.
  • Track client feedback/requests and incorporate them into the FOS road map.
  • Standardize strategic solutions and best practices across clients for economies of scale.
  • Assess and streamline processes with Global Delivery business units to mitigate risk, cost, or service issues and generate efficiencies.
  • Act as a resource taking a leadership role in transformation and growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with trading software, SQL, and excellent interpersonal skills in a Front Office Trading support role.
  • Comfortable with order execution issues and product issues.
  • Proficient in relationship building with trading staff.
  • Strong Front Office expertise.
  • Charles River (CRD) and Middle Office IBOR recordkeeping system experience essential.
  • 10+ years of Investment Management operational support experience.
  • Broad and in-depth understanding of standards, methodologies, processes, systems, and technology necessary to support investment management operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent client-facing & presentation skills.
  • Strong communication (especially written) and presentation skills to audiences of different sizes and levels of seniority.
  • Motivated and team-oriented individual with the ability to work in an energizing environment while handling multiple tasks.
  • Capable of adapting and leading through change.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, SQL coding and accounting platforms.
  • Able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at senior levels.
  • Performs work independently and analyzes and recommends solutions to complex and non-routine issues and special projects.
  • Develops processes, procedures and controls.
  • Handles regular independent interaction with client contacts.
  • Focus on performing complex tasks and providing business and technical expertise in support of multiple clients.
  • Acts as an advisor to other areas of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in finance, accounting, or economics or equivalent work experience in finance or accounting.
  • 6 plus years related industry experience including 2 years of operational trading & trading support experience minimum.
  • Working knowledge of Domestic and International financials and all related financial trading instruments.
  • Detailed understanding of Front/Middle/Back Office Finance Operations.
  • Strong leadership and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a team of 3-8.
  • Ability to develop business relationships within and outside the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problems solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, balance workload and work in a deadline-oriented position.
  • Ability to meet aggressive SLA Deadlines.
  • Computer proficient including spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Python/SQL/VBA/Macro experience.
  • Previous trading software experience.
