About the Role

As Head of Engineering (m/w/d), you will be responsible for the technological advancement of our e-commerce platform during a critical transformation phase. Together with your team, you will shape the migration from Intershop to Salesforce Commerce Cloud, develop future-proof engineering structures, and create the foundation for sustainable scaling and innovation. You will combine strategic technology decisions with modern leadership and make a direct contribution to Mister Spex's success story.

Responsibilities

The technical vision and architecture of our commerce platform are your responsibility; you will ensure the right balance between scalability, stability, and innovation.
You will lead and develop our engineering organization, coach team leads, and foster a strong engineering culture.
From migration and further development of our Salesforce Commerce Cloud landscape to identifying and reducing technical debt, you will drive the continuous optimization of our platform.
You will evaluate technical solution approaches and build-vs.-buy decisions, balancing innovation, speed, and technical sustainability.
In close cooperation with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders, you will translate corporate goals into a technical roadmap.
You will act as a sparring partner for our management and specialist departments, creating transparency about opportunities, risks, and priorities, thereby contributing significantly to the company's success.

Requirements

You have several years of experience in leading engineering teams and have already taken responsibility in a similar role.
E-commerce or commerce platforms are familiar to you, and you have experience with solutions such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Intershop, Adobe Commerce, SAP Hybris, or similar.
You have successfully managed technical architecture decisions in complex system landscapes, balancing diverse requirements from business, product, and technology.
You know how to communicate complex technical contexts understandably and engage different stakeholders at eye level.
A pragmatic leadership style, a high degree of personal responsibility, and the ability to inspire and develop teams characterize you.
You communicate fluently in spoken and written German and English (at least C1 level).
