About the Role

UNIVERSAL PICTURES INTERNATIONAL GERMANY GmbH is seeking a Sales Manager to lead the Berlin Sales Team. This role involves managing the rental of films to customers, implementing sales strategies, and maximizing commercial potential in the German-speaking market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Sales department in coordination with the Frankfurt Sales Manager and Sales Director.
  • Monitor outstanding payments and incoming payments in conjunction with the Finance department.
  • Maintain the booking system and coordinate with the international team.
  • Ensure film theaters receive correct DCP versions and KDMs, and occasionally grant weekend approvals.
  • Implement sales strategies and manage the rental of films, including monitoring performance.
  • Manage key accounts and selected individual clients.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients through visits.
  • Participate in and contribute to trade fairs, tradeshows, and workshops.
  • Create and interpret quarterly and annual internal performance analyses.
  • Conduct market-wide profit and loss analyses for both company products/titles and competitor products/titles.
  • Provide continuous, analysis-based management reporting on a daily, weekly, and quarterly basis.

Requirements

  • High affinity for film and a strong understanding of the German film market (mainstream and arthouse/upmarket).
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic foresight.
  • Experience in project budgeting and sales forecasting.
  • Ability to negotiate with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Team player capable of collaborating across departments, companies, and countries.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Skill in moderating and resolving conflicts.
  • Proactive, forward-thinking, self-motivated, efficient, and organized.
  • Several years of professional experience in Sales.
  • Relevant experience/knowledge in film/cinema/distribution.
  • Proven success in leading a team.
  • Ability to create, report, and defend meaningful analyses under time pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
  • Strong presentation skills, comfortable presenting on stage at trade events.
  • Ability to give presentations in English and provide regular or short-notice updates to London and Los Angeles offices.
  • Very good MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
