About the Role

This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and efficiency of various stations, providing essential support to management teams, and maintaining high standards of service and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and conduct oneself at all times in accordance with site Assignment and Emergency Instructions.
  • Provide support to the Periodic and Fault team and training and development to Operatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all identified legislation, including H&S, Sentinel Card Access, Risk Assessments, process Methodologies, Equipment Room Awareness, and SPC.
  • Provide support to the Senior Contract Manager and Senior Operations Manager, ensuring assigned tasks are completed professionally and timely, adhering to relevant legislation.
  • Responsible for the safety of all persons working at assigned Stations, including employees, cleaning staff, Fault team staff, the Periodic team, the public, delivery drivers, and contractors.
  • Serve as the next point of contact for all emergencies or actual incidents in the absence of the Senior Contract Manager or Senior Operations Manager.
  • Complete all required documentation and shift reports at the end of each shift, copying other shift counterparts.
  • Complete relevant documentation for contractors working onsite.
  • Arrange cover for absent staff by contacting staff not on duty.
  • Ensure 50% of assigned stations are visited nightly as required and escalate issues to site management.
  • Complete Quality and Health and Safety Audits and take appropriate action on findings.
  • Ensure the delivery of the contract in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Support ABM Site Management in ensuring staff welfare, HR Cases, Holiday Bookings, Data Updates, and Job Card validity (Travel Card, Right to Work, Sentinel, ERA, SPC).
  • Ensure staff conduct SPC briefings at the start of each day and brief Lone workers on daily developments.
  • Maintain high standards, be flexible to meet changing operational needs, and suggest new initiatives for continuous improvement and best practice.
  • Undertake toolbox talks training with Multi-Skilled Operatives, identify training and development needs, and ensure staff competence.
  • Ensure adequate quality performance measures (KPI’s/SLA’s) are adhered to and resolve non-compliance professionally with clear plans.
  • Prioritize all incidents, keep key personnel informed, complete incident reports, witness statements, and photographs if a slip/trip occurs, and pass reports to ABM Station management team same day.
  • Ensure strict compliance with the Data Protection Act and associated regulations.
  • Ensure self and Operatives on duty are conversant with all assignment instructions and risk assessments are updated.
  • Complete all company paperwork at stations, including Storage Licences and Equipment PAT.
  • Check staff adherence to uniform standards during daily site visits and address non-compliance.
  • Conduct return to work interviews and perform absence management processes.
  • Ensure all team members are familiar with and adhere to the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • Respond to HR issues for staff under control, including investigations.
  • Foster and maintain excellent relationships with all parties on site, including occupiers and Station CSM.
  • Focus on delivering excellence in customer service, acting as a Customer Service Champion and Brand Ambassador.
  • Maintain a “one team” approach with the Station management team and promote the ABM and Client brand.
  • Undertake any reasonable duties as requested to meet the needs of the client and ABM Support Services.
  • Receive material and ensure timely distribution to stations; check stores to maintain cleaning stock levels.
  • Check for open faults within the location and ensure they are closed out properly within time through Helpdesk.
  • Raise reports of completed tasks, open jobs, and broken machines.
  • Send daily reports using the provided Phone or Tablet to DM, GM, SOM, Act SCM, and copy Day Counterpart Supervisors.
  • Promote a clean and safe working environment by ensuring tasks align with company policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required.
  • Operate and manage workload effectively without supervision.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are applied, complying with legislation and company policy.
  • Maintain critical standards for professionalism, service speed, and quality assurance.
  • Adhere to new policies and procedures to ensure a respectful workplace.

Requirements

  • A Valid Driving License with over 1 year of experience.
  • Knowledge of London Roads.
  • Must have a sentinel card.
  • Sound communication skills.
  • Basic IT Skills (training available).
  • Initiative in the absence of supervision, accepting responsibility.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and other compliance policies.
  • Ability to execute duties in a manner that minimizes incidents and accidents within the Department.
