About the Role

Support existing sites in implementing the company-wide health and safety strategy, ensuring legal compliance and high safety standards. Act as a focal point of expertise to coach and mentor staff while contributing to the national strategy and supporting the onboarding of new sites.

Responsibilities

  • Support branches with health and safety compliance
  • Promote a proactive safety culture
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met on-site
  • Investigate accidents and write reports
  • Identify potential hazards
  • Advise branches on statutory requirements
  • Complete risk assessments and site inspections
  • Suggest improvements to working processes
  • Prepare safe operating procedures
  • Ensure staff understand safety procedures
  • Check equipment for safety
  • Compile statistics for reports and presentations
  • Develop and review HSE policies and procedures
  • Advise and train staff on best working practices
  • Liaise with enforcing authorities
  • Monitor environmental impacts and legislative compliance

Requirements

  • Minimum NEBOSH Certificate
  • IOSH membership
  • Minimum 3 years of health and safety experience
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) legislation
  • Computer skills (MS Office)
  • Ability to build strong working relationships
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Effective organisational skills
  • Persistence and determination
