About the Role
Nunatak's Data & AI Lab is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to bridge the gap between cutting-edge ML and practical, scalable AI solutions. You will work with top clients and develop innovative AI products and services, transforming businesses through technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop functional ML prototypes in short sprints to solve business problems efficiently.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for data preparation, model development, and integration.
- Build demos and experiments in test environments, and implement reliable, standard-compliant architectures for client systems.
- Validate model performance in real-world operational settings, prioritizing actual business value.
- Collaborate with ML Engineers, GenAI Applicationeers, and Data & AI Consultants, constructively challenging requirements and ensuring knowledge transfer to clients.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of professional experience in applied Machine Learning, with a track record of bringing at least one model from concept to production.
- Proficient in common ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) and the scientific Python stack (NumPy, Pandas).
- Proven experience in training, validating, and deploying models in a major cloud environment (Google Cloud / Vertex AI, AWS SageMaker, or Azure ML).
- Proficient in SQL and data pipeline architecture, with experience in preparing and ensuring the quality of large, complex datasets.
- Solid understanding of real-world model operations, including versioning, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable technical field.
- Fluent in German and English.
