About the Role

This role involves preparing and completing services for assigned locomotives, ensuring vehicle and timetable documents are complete and accurate before train departure. You will conduct brake tests and wagon inspections, perform train driving and shunting duties safely and punctually, and identify, assess, and resolve technical issues. The position also includes making and receiving operational messages, practically instructing trainees, managing emergencies and disruptions, maintaining knowledge, and working according to the schedule and supervisor's instructions.

Responsibilities

Preparation and completion services for the assigned locomotive
Control of vehicle and timetable documents for completeness and correctness before train departure
Performance of brake tests according to VDV 757 and wagon inspections according to VDV 758
Safe, quality-compliant, and punctual execution of train driving and shunting services
Identification, assessment, and, where possible, elimination of technical faults
Making and receiving operational messages according to regulations
Practical instruction of train drivers undergoing training
Implementation of assigned tasks within the scope of emergency and disruption management
Maintenance and expansion of current knowledge and skills
Deployment according to duty roster
Other work as instructed by the supervisor

Requirements

Completed training as a railway worker in operations, specializing in locomotive driver and transport (EiB L/T), or successfully completed qualification/retraining as a train driver (Class B2 required)
Training according to VDV 753 / TfV
Health and psychological fitness according to TfV
Valid driver's license according to TfV
Car driver's license
Shunting attendant and brake test authorization according to VDV 757
Wagon inspector levels 1 and 2 according to VDV 758
Willingness to work shifts / rotating shifts
Willingness to acquire additional qualifications
High quality and responsibility awareness
Driving authorization for the border regions of Poland, Luxembourg, or Austria is desirable
