About the Role
Amerit Fleet Solutions is hiring a skilled EV Technician/Automotive Mechanic to join our team in San Francisco, CA. This is an opportunity to build a career in the exciting and rapidly evolving world of Electric Autonomous Vehicles (EV/AV), maintaining and retrofitting the next generation of fleet vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Perform service, repair, and maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and integrated systems of electric autonomous vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, A/C, and autonomous vehicle systems
- Conduct complex hardware retrofits and AV hardware replacements
- Perform software and firmware updates
- Collaborate with engineering and service teams to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues
- Create repair orders and accurately document work performed, including diagnosis, procedures, and parts used
- Participate in fleet-wide hardware and software retrofits
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a strong focus on quality and precision
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with autonomous vehicle technology
Requirements
- 4-8 years’ of hands-on experience performing automotive vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Strong ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, A/C, and AV/EV systems
- Experience with complex hardware retrofits and AV hardware replacement
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and automotive shop equipment (impact guns, lifts, jacks, etc.)
- Solid computer skills with a strong aptitude for learning new technology and software
- Excellent communication skills and ability to give/receive clear feedback
- A learning mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proven commitment to safety and high-quality work
- Ability to perform physical work including frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, sitting for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and accessing tight or confined spaces
- Ability to safely perform duties in various weather conditions
- Ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
