About the Role
The Distillery Restaurants Corp. is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Restaurant Pastry Cook for a high-achieving French restaurant. The ideal candidate understands that exceptional food is at the heart of hospitality and is an ambassador to Toronto's unique food and beverage culture.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sweet treats including crème anglaise, ice creams, sorbets, crème brûlée, croquembouche, cookies, and petits fours.
- Portion nougatine, sponge cakes, and glaze cakes.
- Prepare flat breads, lavash, and saltines.
- Maintain a clean and organized station, equipment, and utensils.
- Adhere strictly to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines.
- Follow FIFO (first in, first out) method to maximize ingredient freshness.
- Move food products and supplies between outlets.
- Report equipment/utensil malfunctions/deficiencies to the Chef on duty.
- Work largely unsupervised and independently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have legal permission to work in Canada.
- At least five (5) years of professional pastry experience.
- Ability to produce pastry items to a high standard.
- Strong internal drive and ability to work independently to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced, everchanging environment, including weekend schedules.
- Humble personality with a good sense of humour.
- Strong communication skills.
