About the Role
Our team creates, maintains, and operates scalable technology and data solutions that deliver an exceptional experience for our internal and external customers. This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on building and operating shared infrastructure, tooling, and automation that reduce friction for engineers. You will be an AI-native engineer, using AI coding assistants and modern automation as force multipliers, and helping to build scalable AI services into our cloud foundation.
Responsibilities
- Write, review, and ship production-quality code (e.g., Python, Go) to build tools and automation that improve platform accessibility and increase product team productivity.
- Assist in the design and implementation of key shared infrastructure components to enhance service availability and scalability.
- Help build, integrate, and operate production-ready AI services and features within cloud platforms, including LLM-powered and agentic workflows.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Ansible for cloud resource management and deployment across multi-cloud environments.
- Participate in on-call support, contribute to incident response, root-cause analysis, and self-healing solutions.
- Support services throughout their lifecycle with a cross-stack perspective on system design, self-service capabilities, scalability, automation, capacity, and reliability.
- Implement security controls and Zero Trust practices, partnering with InfoSec teams to maintain security posture and compliance.
- Monitor cloud environments using tools such as Datadog and Grafana, identify performance bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization for cost-efficiency.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
- Experience writing, reviewing, and testing production-quality code (Python and/or Go).
- Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and/or AI agent frameworks with the ability to apply AI to automate infrastructure and developer workflows.
- Comfort using AI coding assistants to accelerate delivery.
- Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell) for infrastructure management.
- Experience managing resources in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and building immutable infrastructure with IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Hands-on experience building or operating LLM-powered or agentic services in production (e.g., RAG, model routing/gateways, orchestration frameworks).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of Linux and/or Windows administration and optimization.
- Experience with monitoring, telemetry, or AIOps tooling.
- Understanding of network architecture and security best practices, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing in cloud environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
