About the Role
A Product Owner is responsible for overseeing product development from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with client needs and preferences. This role involves defining the product vision, managing backlogs, and prioritizing features based on client feedback. The Product Owner acts as the key liaison between scrum teams, development departments, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for innovation and end-to-end launch of products.
- Leads process modeling, requirements, design, and testing to deliver software solutions.
- Partners with Product Manager to provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and creates requirements, including creating user stories.
- Supervise and advise the scrum team to meet software expectations.
- Represents the customer and works closely with the scrum team throughout the development process, participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints.
- Works with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders, including analytics, design/user experience, engineering, and user enablement.
- Partners with stakeholders and customers across the organization to inform the product vision, strategy, features, roadmaps, and prioritization.
- Provides an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
- Ensures that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on.
- Manages the product backlog and prioritizing them based on changing requirements.
- Nurture ideas and solutions to existing customer problems.
- Communicate effectively with team members to achieve project goals.
- Extract and retrieve data insights into products with actionable outcomes to the ultimate customer.
- Schedule and lead meetings to identify issues and fixes for projects.
- Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process.
- Liaising with the product team and end-users to deliver updates.
- Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.
- Acts as a leader within the organization.
- May be involved in production support during and after hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of equivalent experience.
- 2+ years’ experience in product development for particular vertical.
- Intermediate SQL and data analysis skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of data modelling/visualization and use interface design.
- Intermediate reporting skills.
- Strong knowledge of Agile principles and process.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent consensus building skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays.
