About the Role

Lead the design and delivery of GCP native data platforms and architecture solutions, working across BigQuery, dbt and Airflow to build enterprise data transformation frameworks. Shape cloud data warehouses, ELT pipelines and analytics solutions that are reliable, scalable and easy for teams to use. Make key architecture decisions, set dbt standards and reusable models, improve testing and deployment practices, and guide teams on SQL, data modelling and modern data architecture patterns. Partner with business and technology stakeholders to drive best practice across governance, security, performance and cost optimisation on Google Cloud. Lead multidisciplinary teams to address clients’ most complex data challenges across data architecture, platform automation, DevOps best practices, CI/CD, data governance, and advanced analytics. Coach, develop, and inspire your team, setting high standards for delivery excellence and technical leadership. Collaborate with practice and alliance leaders to grow capability and shape Deloitte’s data and AI offerings, including driving community initiatives and contributing to new Deloitte IP and solutions.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in data architecture, engineering or cloud data platform design.
  • Advanced SQL expertise.
  • Strong hands-on experience in BigQuery and large scale analytical data environments.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise scale Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data solutions.
  • Deep hands-on experience with dbt, including data modelling, ELT frameworks, testing, documentation, CI/CD integration and analytics engineering best practice.
  • Strong experience using BigQuery, dbt and Airflow to build, automate and optimise cloud native data platforms on GCP.
  • Experience with GCP services including Dataflow, Data Fusion, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub and Vertex AI.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, data warehousing principles, Data Mesh, domain oriented architecture and scalable data architecture patterns.
  • Strong Python development skills and experience building scalable data solutions.
  • Experience leading architecture decisions and engaging business and technology stakeholders.
  • Google Cloud certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer are highly regarded.
  • Exposure to financial services, fund management, fund accounting or private credit is desirable.
