About the Role
The Designated Selling Associate (DSA) Salesperson is passionate about fashion, enjoys one-on-one customer interaction, and thrives in a sales environment. DSAs drive sales volume for Nordstrom while championing their represented brand, excelling in customer service, product knowledge, merchandising, and selling.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital selling using selling tools, including text and social media.
- Build lasting customer relationships.
- Provide excellent customer service, which may require flexibility to work in other departments or brands.
- Offer honest and confident feedback to customers regarding style, fit, and wardrobe value.
- Seek fashion and product knowledge through meetings and trainings.
- Build relationships with other DSAs, Stylists, and departments by conducting product knowledge meetings.
- Provide product feedback to the District Manager to improve store assortments.
- Drive business through appointment-based selling during events and non-events.
- Maintain department presentation by stocking, re-merchandising, displaying, and cleaning.
- Grow sales by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.
- Work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport and cultivate customer relationships.

- Ability to read and interpret sales reporting in relation to goals.
- Understand how to educate customers on new and emerging brands, suggesting items based on their needs.
- Confidence with high/low price points and ability to showcase item value and wardrobe integration.
- Strong understanding of customer's holistic wardrobe and style.
- High degree of organization for strategic follow-up and wardrobe advice.
- Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting them above the head.
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
