About the Role
You'll join a small, cross-functional product engineering team building Clipboard. It's a role that blends hands-on development with judgement: understanding the problem you're solving, deciding what's worth shipping, and growing into bigger design and architecture calls over time.
Responsibilities
- Take on well-scoped pieces of work and carry them from ticket to production, working closely with your Product Manager and fellow engineers.
- Write and review clean, well-tested code.
- Deliver incrementally using feature flags and staged rollouts, shipping value to customers early and de-risking bigger changes.
- Document meaningful technical decisions using lightweight Decision Logs.
- Get hands-on with AI tooling: prompts, skills, agent harnesses and in-repo context files.
- Take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving, as a core way to grow your craft.
- Work with our support team to triage and resolve production issues.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar), with a clear sense of where AI helps, where it doesn't, and what to do about it.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Solid CS fundamentals and a real interest in the whole lifecycle - not just writing code, but testing, shipping and supporting it in production.
- Curiosity about the product and the business, not just the code.
- An eye for quality that catches slop before it ships: unnecessary abstractions, duplicated logic, subtle bugs, and code that passes tests but misses the mark.
- A habit of digging in - the instinct to trace a problem to its root before reaching for a solution.
- A valid Employee Working With Children Check
- A satisfactory National Police Check
- Verification of unrestricted work rights in Australia (e.g. citizenship, passport or birth certificate).
