About the Role
ISS STOXX is seeking a motivated Associate to join the Corporate Governance Research team in Sydney, focusing on the Australian and New Zealand markets. This role involves analyzing companies in the S&P/ASX 300 Index, producing research reports and voting recommendations for institutional investors, and collaborating with global teams on governance trends.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial, company, and corporate governance information to produce research reports and proxy voting recommendations aligned with ISS policy guidelines.
- Develop subject-matter expertise in executive compensation, board composition, shareholder rights, and the regulatory environment in Australia and New Zealand.
- Maintain market knowledge of regional corporate governance trends, investment issues, and shareholder considerations.
- Respond to inquiries from internal teams, clients, and companies regarding research findings and governance policies.
- Engage with issuers and contribute insights to discussions on governance matters and policy topics.
- Partner with ISS analysts globally to support ad hoc research, thematic reports, and analysis on emerging issues.
- Work closely with ISS’ global data, product, and analytics teams to support data capture, verification, and research processes.
- Contribute to ISS working groups and cross-team initiatives, including special projects and process improvements.
Requirements
- Has at least 3-5 years of experience in corporate governance, financial services, executive compensation, legal, consulting or related fields.
- Strong analytical capabilities with solid financial literacy and a demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; intermediate Excel skills are an advantage.
- Must be eligible to work/have full working rights in the county.
