About the Role

Lead the risk management function for major infrastructure delivery packages within the Sydney Metro project team, providing strategic risk leadership to project directors, delivery teams, and senior executives. This senior specialist role focuses on project delivery risk, offering independent challenge and oversight, leading quantitative risk assessments, managing contingency, and integrating risk information into project controls, forecasting, and governance.

Responsibilities

Lead project and program risk management activities across major delivery packages.
Provide strategic risk leadership and advice to Project Directors and senior executives.
Facilitate risk identification, assessment, and mitigation workshops with project and contractor teams.
Lead Quantitative Cost Risk Assessments (QCRA) and Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA).
Review and challenge risk assumptions and contingency.
Develop and maintain project risk registers, reporting, and governance frameworks.
Integrate risk management with cost, schedule, and project controls functions.
Support interface and integration risk management across complex delivery environments.
Lead and mentor risk professionals and contribute to capability development across the project.

Requirements

Proven track record working on large and complex infrastructure projects.
Experience applying quantitative risk methodologies.
Understanding of how project risk, schedule risk, cost risk, and contingency interact within major project environments.
Experience leading project risk management functions on major infrastructure programs.
Experience in rail, metro, transport, utilities, energy, or other complex infrastructure projects.
Experience leading and facilitating Quantitative Cost Risk Assessments (QCRA).
Experience leading and facilitating Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA).
Experience with contingency management, confidence-based forecasting, and risk-informed decision making.
Experience developing, reviewing, or challenging quantitative risk models.
Experience with Monte Carlo simulation and quantitative risk analysis methodologies.
Experience working directly with Project Directors, Cost Managers, Commercial Managers, and Planning teams.
Experience integrating risk management with project controls, cost management, and scheduling functions.
Experience managing contractor, interface, and delivery risks across complex stakeholder environments.
Experience preparing and presenting risk insights to executive and governance forums.
Experience leading high-performing teams and mentoring risk practitioners.
