About the Role

This role has been created to strengthen Torrens University’s permanent academic workforce, supporting the delivery of flexible, high-quality, student-centred learning experiences across on-campus, online, hybrid and asynchronous learning environments, while enhancing student success and employability. We're looking for educators who don't simply teach, they innovate.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire and support the next generation of nutrition professionals.
  • Primarily teach nutrition foundational subjects, including Human Nutrition 1 & 2, Nutrition & Society, Food Systems, Science & Policy, and Lifespan Nutrition.
  • Combine outstanding teaching practice with digital capability, learning design and innovation to create learning experiences that are flexible, engaging and centred around student success.
  • Create inclusive, engaging learning experiences and genuinely care about helping every student succeed.
  • Experiment with new technologies, AI and digital tools, and rethink traditional approaches to teaching.
  • Seek feedback, use learning analytics and continuously refine teaching based on what works.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to improve learning, share ideas, and solve challenges together.
  • Adapt to a dynamic, digitally evolving higher education environment.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate qualification in Nutrition (Master's degree or higher); a PhD (completed or in progress) is highly regarded.
  • Current membership with a relevant professional association.
  • Contemporary professional experience in the nutrition field.
  • Ability to maintain active industry engagement alongside the role.
  • Strong facilitation skills across online and face-to-face learning environments in Higher Education.
  • Experience using learning technologies and digital tools to enhance teaching.
  • Confidence using, or enthusiasm for adopting, AI-enabled approaches in education.
  • Experience designing engaging learning and assessment activities.
  • A student-centred approach to teaching and learning.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A growth mindset and commitment to continuous professional learning.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications (or working towards completion).
