About the Role
This is a dedicated safety and coronial law role, sitting separately from our Employment & Incentives team. As an Associate, you will be doing front end and back end WHS work, including responding to incidents, preparing for and appearing in court for WHS prosecutions and Coronial Inquests, and advising on safety governance and best practice.
Responsibilities
- Responding to incidents, including providing advice on improvement, prohibition, and infringement notices
- Preparing for and appearing in court for WHS prosecutions and Coronial Inquests
- Advising on safety governance and best practise, including officer duties
Requirements
- Australian-qualified lawyer
- 2-5 years post-qualification experience, ideally gained in private practice
- Demonstrated experience working in workplace health & safety law
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to assimilate information quickly and handle multiple priorities within tight timeframes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Collegiate and collaborative
- Commercial aware and enthusiastic about business development
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced high-performing team
