About the Role

Join SafeWork NSW as a Senior People & Culture Business Partner to partner with business leaders, shape a high-performing workforce, and provide strategic guidance on workforce, culture, and people management. This role supports senior leaders in building capability and leading change in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored, strategic people and culture advice to senior leaders and people leaders.
  • Coach and uplift leadership capability to manage complex employee relations matters and difficult conversations.
  • Lead complex and sensitive people matters, including workplace investigations, grievances, and performance management.
  • Advise on award interpretation and employment legislation to mitigate employee relations risks.
  • Support the implementation of People & Culture initiatives aligned with organizational strategic priorities.
  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes through engagement and business understanding.
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture team to co-design and deliver workforce solutions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports to foster high performance.
  • Promote and embed inclusive and innovative workforce practices.

Requirements

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve issues.
  • Confidence in coaching and supporting senior leaders through sensitive and complex people matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead highly complex and sensitive people matters, including workplace investigations, formal grievance processes, and performance management.
  • Expertise in award interpretation and employment act, applying legislative knowledge to advise on employee relations risks and deliver compliant, fair, and balanced outcomes.
  • Experience supporting organizational change, including planning and implementing workforce transitions and restructures.
  • A track record of successfully leading people-related projects from design to evaluation.
  • A customer-focused approach and the ability to adapt within a dynamic environment.
  • Experience managing a small team.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience in human resources, organisational development and/or relevant industry experience.
  • Satisfactory participation in mandatory pre-employment and ongoing probity screening.
