About the Role

This role offers a chance to shape how institutions, brokers, and advisers access markets in Australia and New Zealand, with strong earning potential and the opportunity to build a successful career in the fintech industry. You will work closely with senior leaders to win new business and see the direct impact of your work.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own your pipeline.
  • Source and convert opportunities across planner and advisory, indirect participant and institutional segments.
  • Run outbound campaigns and re-engage dormant intermediaries and brokers.
  • Close sales opportunities, with a strong focus on high-revenue deals.
  • Prepare proposals and presentations, including responses to RFIs, RFPs and tenders.
  • Negotiate contractual and commercial terms, and run due diligence on new prospects.
  • Spot new revenue streams.
  • Help decide where marketing spend should go, based on what has worked before.
  • Represent CMC at industry expos, trading seminars and roadshows, and act as a brand ambassador in every client interaction.
  • Feed client feedback and market insight back to senior management and product teams.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for financial markets, ideally with a focus on stockbroking or institutional products.
  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, with a track record of building pipeline, developing opportunities and closing deals.
  • Confidence negotiating commercial and contractual terms.
  • At least five years' experience in Australian financial markets.
  • Strong self-motivation, initiative and an entrepreneurial eye for spotting opportunities.
  • Comfort working independently, while still contributing as a strong team member.
  • Sharp planning skills and the ability to run a structured, organised sales process.
  • Applicants must have full, permanent working rights in Australia.
  • Experience as a Business Development Manager, Institutional Sales Manager or Partnerships Manager in financial markets, stockbroking or wealth platforms is desirable.
