About the Role
This position is a key part of the Richemont Finance community, expected to be a true business partner with a strong compliance mindset, independence, and problem-solving skills. The role primarily involves tax calculations, tax return preparation, monthly and annual closing, and reporting. The OTR section handles critical accounting operations for Richemont Japan, including inventory, intercompany accounts, taxes, and financial statement preparation for group and statutory audits. We seek a professional with knowledge of group accounting standards and generally accepted accounting principles (J-GAAP and IFRS) who can perform duties with meticulous attention to ensure accurate financial reporting. This role also requires strong communication skills and teamwork to collaborate closely with logistics, purchasing, finance, IT, and other finance members to support business activities. Additionally, active participation in initiatives and projects related to operational efficiency, such as digitalization, paperless processes, and operational simplification, is expected.
Responsibilities
- Tax calculations and tax returns
- Stamp tax calculation and declaration
- Accuracy of sales and cost of sales accounts
- Monthly and annual closing
- Compliance and application of group accounting standards and Japanese standards
- Audit support
- Proposal and execution of improvements for business processes and systems
- Implementation of paperless and digital initiatives
- Proposal for system improvements and user testing
- Simplification of processes and productivity improvement
- Development of new processes/introduction of schemes
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting operations within a company, or equivalent accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems with sufficient flexibility for new environments.
- Ability to manage expectations under a complex matrix function/line.
- Ability to work under uncertainty.
