About the Role
This role is for a Senior Leader within Microsoft Japan's Public Sector business, responsible for leading security technology strategy from an overall management perspective. You will guide customers in the government, local authorities, and public sectors to safely and distinctively utilize Microsoft's cloud services through technical sales strategies. You will oversee Microsoft's security products and services, design and implement optimal end-to-end solutions for customers considering their integration with Microsoft Cloud, and provide feedback to headquarters engineering on product specifications to drive product adaptation and improvement for the public sector. This is a challenging and rewarding position that goes beyond being a mere security expert, spanning GTM, solution development, and product improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead security technology strategy for the Public Sector business, serving as the technical authority.
- Take technical responsibility for all Microsoft security products and services, designing optimal end-to-end solutions considering integration with Microsoft Cloud.
- Coordinate ISMAP compliance by listing and maintaining the status of relevant products and services, and liaising with internal organizations and auditors.
- Develop and drive the security domain of the overall product and service strategy for the public sector, communicating differentiation points internally and externally.
- Identify blockers in product specifications and features for public sector business, propose and negotiate improvements and enhancements with headquarters engineering.
- Lead Go-To-Market (GTM) and solution development, establishing evaluation and proposal optimization processes.
- Build trust with CISO and technical leaders in government agencies, and handle technical escalations.
- Foster organizational growth by mentoring and developing security capabilities, and disseminating best/bad practices.
- Collaborate across internal Microsoft organizations, customers, and partners to maximize overall public sector security outcomes.
- Embody Microsoft's values and growth mindset, contributing to the success of diverse teams.
Requirements
- Over 8 years of practical experience as a consultant, SE, technical sales, pre-sales, or architect in information security and cloud, or equivalent experience.
- Deep expertise in cloud security (Zero Trust, Identity and Access Management, AI/AI Agent/AI Local Agent security, threat protection, information protection, security operations, compliance).
- Communication skills to negotiate with management and CISO-level executives.
- Breadth of knowledge in other major cloud technology areas in addition to deep security expertise.
- Japanese language proficiency (business level) and English language proficiency (required for headquarters collaboration).
