About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Create world-class, high-touch chocolate experiences.
  • Uphold the company's mission of being a sustainable, ethical business.
  • Manage daily operations, including team coverage and supply orders.
  • Collaborate with Creative and Facilities teams on store presentation and maintenance.
  • Conduct 1:1 meetings with team members.
  • Respond to customer reviews on Yelp and Google.
  • Develop staffing plans for peak seasons.
  • Formulate and implement quarterly milestones for shop improvement.
  • Prioritize team and guest service.
  • Develop a vision for an exquisite chocolate shop experience, focusing on profitability and team cohesion.
  • Communicate clearly to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the day-to-day success and long-term growth of the operation.
  • Build and maintain systems with Fulfillment, Product, Creative, and other teams for stocking and merchandising.
  • Outline actionable goals for company profitability with the Finance team.
  • Maintain weekly reports tracking costs for goods and labor.
  • Ensure shops are clean, organized, and reflect the Dandelion Chocolate brand.
  • Proactively greet and attend to guests.
  • Reinforce and improve hospitality and retail service standards.
  • Ensure guests feel welcome and engaged with the Dandelion Chocolate story.
  • Train team members to deliver high-touch guest care and answer product-related questions.
  • Oversee retail teams to ensure smooth guest interactions and a safe work environment.
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members for long-term success.
  • Develop systems to ensure stores consistently look their best, addressing details like displays and signage.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of previous experience in a food establishment (restaurant, high-volume café, or intimate retail shop) with systems and process know-how to prioritize elevated guest service.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and profitability reports.
  • Ability to read and modify financial models to inform decision-making.
  • Ability to adjust schedule to meet team needs, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to manage sensitive or disagreeable guests, even during busy periods.
  • Ability to respond to customers with a friendly, approachable demeanor on social media accounts.
  • Passion for chocolate or experience in the cacao-world is a plus.
