About the Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the technical expert and advisor for Ford and Lincoln dealerships in your assigned Tech Zone. This role involves diagnosing vehicle concerns, improving dealership service processes, and ensuring excellent customer ownership experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Visit assigned dealerships on a regular cadence to review service department health, repair trends, warranty compliance, and technical training.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve repair quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide in-dealership repair assistance for escalated technical hotline cases.
  • Lead diagnosis and repair strategy for difficult-to-repair vehicles.
  • Offer diagnostic guidance and coaching to dealership technicians.
  • Support Ford legal counsel, executive liaison, and dispute resolution teams.
  • Perform vehicle inspections and complete final repair attempts.
  • Serve as a technical expert in depositions, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Consult with dealership leadership on technician training and development plans.
  • Analyze root causes for involvement in difficult-to-repair vehicles and identify dealership process gaps.
  • Present practical solutions to dealership leadership and track follow-up actions.
  • Partner with service departments to improve repair processes and warranty expenditures.
  • Ensure dealerships maintain essential service tools and equipment.
  • Promote Ford’s technician entry, recognition, and retention programs.
  • Coach dealership management on leveraging programs to recruit, develop, and retain technicians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of automotive dealership diagnosis and repair experience.
  • Ability to attain/maintain Ford Sr. Master Certification within 24 months of hire.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
  • Ability and willingness to travel with overnight stays on a weekly basis.
  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to command respect, influence without direct authority, and navigate difficult conversations.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
