About the Role
Sift Agents is an AI solution designed to assist hardware engineers by investigating anomalies, reviewing data, and answering complex questions quickly. This role offers significant product ownership and autonomy, allowing you to engage directly with customers, define product strategy, and manage the entire development lifecycle from MVP to post-launch iterations. The work involves designing user interfaces for agent interactions, developing Kubernetes scaling logic, and focusing on making AI agents dependable through tool design, context management, code execution, evaluation, and observability.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product and customers to translate real-world review workflows into agent capabilities, including dashboard generation, analysis script creation, and insight surfacing from telemetry.
- Design, deploy, and manage agentic systems that process large-scale time-series data and hardware domain context.
- Develop foundational components for agent dependability, such as tool interfaces, sandboxed code execution environments, context and memory management, data compaction algorithms, custom skills, and guardrails.
- Build distributed systems that support streaming agent work in real-time, ensuring resilience to disconnects and seamless resumption after restarts.
- Design job-based execution systems for scheduling, scaling, and managing agent workloads on Kubernetes, supporting both cloud and on-premise deployments.
- Develop and maintain Sift’s MCP server, providing a tool interface for agents and customer AI tools to query telemetry.
- Design and implement APIs to support agentic functionalities.
- Create evaluation suites to measure agent effectiveness in assisting engineers, and implement production monitoring for quality, latency, cost, and failure modes.
- Integrate and evaluate cutting-edge models from various providers.
Requirements
- Possess 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Demonstrate a passion for product ownership, including customer interaction, strategic decision-making, and product delivery.
- Experience building APIs (REST, gRPC, etc.) and complex backend services using languages such as Go, Python, or Rust.
