About the Role
The Apprentice assists Workshop Technicians with daily operations, including pre-delivery inspections, maintenance, and repairs of elevating work platforms, telehandlers, and lighting towers.
Responsibilities
- Assist with evaluating machine performance
- Inspect designs and finished products for specification compliance
- Install, test, repair, and modify electronic and hydraulic equipment
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections to ensure machines are in good working order
- Perform repairs and maintenance on customer and company-owned equipment
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and organization
- Adhere to Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental policies
- Complete required paperwork and inspection forms per ANZ Standards
- Assist with three-monthly and annual machine inspections
- Perform sanding, painting, and general trade assistant duties
- Execute general ad-hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
- Commitment to a 4-year apprenticeship program
- Completion of Cert III in Elevating Work Platforms or Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong listening skills and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Language, Literacy, and Numeracy
- Mature and reliable demeanor
- Mechanically minded with interest in mechanics, electrics, or hydraulics
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective time-management and prioritization skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
