About the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist in Business Intelligence, you will contribute on various initiatives while also supporting the team through coaching on clever use of data and advanced analytics. You will be responsible for providing significant business value through the creation, maintenance, and implementation of analytical, predictive, and machine learning models. You will focus on enabling new technologies and analytical tools within the organization, including generative AI.
Responsibilities
- Coaching peers on the use of a scientific methodology in all projects, tasks, and interactions.
- Defining the required models/technique to solve business problems and support others through the execution.
- Delivering and designing production-ready models and analytic solutions autonomously.
- Designing data science projects by breaking complex problems or high-level business objectives into smaller problems that can be addressed using data science.
- Making recommendations and influencing stakeholder groups, including management, with guidance from your manager.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Business Intelligence.
- Experience in the P&C insurance industry is an asset.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
- Graduate studies in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field is an asset.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of: Data analysis, Programming/tools, Modelling techniques, Research, Architecture/design.
- Experience solving complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions.
- Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Ability to provide clear recommendations for improvement.
- Proficiency in Python, Databricks and Cloud environments is required.
- Proficiency in R, SQL and data engineering tools is an asset.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Subject to a Background check as a condition of employment.
