About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and improvement of building systems and equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems operate safely and efficiently. The technician supports overall facility operations by minimizing downtime and addressing maintenance needs promptly.
Responsibilities
- Performing daily maintenance and troubleshooting, including plumbing repairs
- Handling light carpentry, painting, and minor electrical tasks for remodeling projects
- Conducting quarterly assessments of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs
- Using hand tools, electric tools, ladders, and miscellaneous power equipment safely and effectively as directed
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three to Five years of experience in roofing/heights/roof draining for commercial building maintenance preferred
- To possess a valid New York State Driver's license, with no restrictions
- To be able to work independently with little to no supervision
- The ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- The ability to work with ladders and lifts
- The ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
