About the Role
eBay, Inc. seeks an Information Security Engineer 3 in Austin, TX to investigate computer and information security incidents, respond to escalated notable events, and develop/execute security controls to prevent attacks. This role involves researching security threats, performing HR investigations and legal holds, and staying updated on the latest security trends.
Responsibilities
- Investigate computer and information security incidents to determine extent of compromise.
- Respond to escalated notable events from security tooling.
- Develop and execute security controls and countermeasures.
- Prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company systems.
- Provide information and updates to shift leads and build pass-downs.
- Work closely with supporting teams.
- Provide feedback for new security policy and standards.
- Engage with other teams.
- Research attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security and design countermeasures.
- Perform HR investigations and legal holds in a forensically sound manner.
- Stay educated on the latest trends, techniques, tactics, and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer and Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a closely related field.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Skills
- Log analysis using SIEM tools including Splunk
- Remediation and recovery measures implementation
- Investigation of unidentified processes using EDR and SIEM
- Triage analysis through EDRs such as Carbon Black or Crowdstrike
- Use of OSINT tools like Virus Total, Any Run, and MX Toolbox
- Organizing and suggesting security control measures
- Applying security testing to detect potential vulnerabilities
